CAD Designer 
As a CAD Designer at COM DEV USA you will be a key part of the Engineering team, providing support by creating detailed designs and drawings and mechanical modeling of passive microwave hardware for key government and military satellite programs. 
 
Principal Accountabilities 
• Knowledgeable with, and utilizes the Pro/Engineer design software tool and Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for the creation of product geometry models (solid models for assembly and parts) and detail and assembly drawings,  
• Mechanical modeling of passive microwave hardware and supporting brackets/fixtures. 
• Detailed design and drawing creation of the noted mechanical models including the development of notes, views, parts lists, etc., in support of the design solution as directed by the Project Engineer or designee. 
• Drawing revisions and change order documentation. 
• Supplier interaction for model or drawing interpretation. 
Position Requirements 
• Minimum of 2 years experience in CAD design (work or academia experience). 
• Good proficiency in use of Pro-E design software. 
• Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) is preferred. 
• Knowledge/experience with selection and application of material properties in CAD model in support of mechanical analysis (ie. Pro-Mechanica) is preferred. 
• Mechanically inclined, with a good practical intuitive grasp of mechanical/structural design and some hands-on experience is preferred. 
• Able to work extended hours, alternate shifts, and weekends, assuming sufficient advance notice is given.  
• Educational background in vibration and dynamics is preferred.  
• Good interpersonal and communications skills. 
• Experience with passive microwave space hardware is desired. 
• U.S. Person Status is required.
