Since its establishment in 1986, KHEIR Center has been dedicated to providing Southern California’s under-served communities and uninsured residents with access to healthcare and social services. KHEIR has grown from an organization focused primarily on the non-English speaking Korean community into a series of programs that serve individuals regardless of their race, ethnicity, age, gender, sex, sexual orientation, or income. KHEIR currently operates the nation’s only full-time community clinic with the Korean, Spanish, and English language capabilities. During the past two decades, KHEIR Center has expanded its services to include a community clinic, adult day health centers, and human services.
KHEIR Center is committed to providing linguistically and culturally-sensitive quality primary healthcare and human services support to the under-served and uninsured residents of Southern California.JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Employee will be responsible for explaining and teaching basic computing concepts.
• Possess the ability and desire to teach computer skills to novice students, motivating each individual to overcome his own personal obstacles
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions
• Analyze student progress and provide continuing evaluations for each student;
• Offer one-on-one support to each student needing help
• Be qualified to teach courses in certain software areas, such as Microsoft Office and Internet browsing
• Be capable of preparing course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts
• Create lesson plans, evaluate and revise curricula, course content and course materials as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Must have bilingual Spanish skills
• Experience teaching computer classes highly desirable
• strong computer skills
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 1-3 years of related experience.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Excellent follow through and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Experience within a hospital / clinic setting a plus, but not required.- Location: Los Angeles, Ca
