Well established and highly respected San Fernando Valley Commercial Landscape Construction Company is seeking a qualified General Superintendent. The ideal candidate is bilingual (English & Spanish) and has at least five years of previous commercial and public works landscaping field supervision experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as the company’s primary point of contact for all field operations for multiple commercial landscape construction contracts.
• Coordinate timely preparation and delivery of all labor, material, equipment and subcontracts required for complete contract execution.
• Assist Project Management staff to help estimate, prepare and track customer change order requests.
• Basic familiarity with computer operating systems including Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, Etc.
• Coordinate all field activities via dialogue between field personnel, Project Management staff and purchasing department.
• Regularly survey jobsites to ensure quality control, conformance with contract specifications and safety best management practices.
• Actively engage management, staff, customers and local officials in an effort to maintain sound business relationships and or facilitate dispute resolutions.
• Maintain pro-active management style approach to anticipate and minimize or prevent potential problems or conflicts.
• Always represent company’s best interest by ensuring profit margin protection while minimizing exposure to unnecessary risks.
• Sustain professional and friendly attitude toward all team members and clients at all times.
• Keep abreast of ever changing industry trends and or technology advancements as necessary to maintain a competitive advantage.
• Master company internal systems and processes to assure seamless and timely interface with management and or other departments.
• This individual reports directly to the Construction Operations Manager and Owner.
• Direct reports include landscape & irrigation foreman and labor crews for multiple construction projects

Requirements

• 5 years previous experience in commercial and public works landscaping field supervision experience
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) is preferred
• Computer Skills Required: Outlook, Excel, Word, MS File Management Structure
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
• Detail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good DMV record is required
• Ability to work in a team or individual environment
• Successfully pass employment background check
• Negative results on pre-employment drug test
