Minuteman Parking Company has history, with over 14 years of parking cars at hotels, hospitals, casinos, retail centers, commercial buildings, and for special events.

We currently have a Temporary (3-4 Months) GEM car (Courtesy Shuttle) positions available in the Antelope Valley Area at our hospital location!

POSITION OVERVIEW

Drive battery-electronically powered multi-passenger (four to six passengers) vehicle to transport patients, visitors/employees, and hospital materials to and from hospital entrances and parking lots or to other locations. Assists physically challenged patients, visitors and employees onto and off of the shuttle. Performs daily preventative maintenance of assigned vehicle.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

Shuttle Driving
Safe operation of the GEM Car in accordance with all applicable laws and ordinances
Ensure that the GEM car is never in motion unless all passengers have their seat belts securely fastened
Ensure the safety of patients, guests, and employees as they board and leave the Gem Car
Ensure the safety of pedestrians
Drive GEM Car safely in all weather conditions

GEM Car Maintenance
Ensure that the condition of the GEM Car is always in proper and safe working order, including checking the condition of the vehicle’s tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, and safety equipment
Complete Pre-Shift inspection reports prior to beginning shift
Report any GEM Car malfunctions or needed repairs to management immediately
Ensure that GEM Car interiors are clean for all passengers

Customer Service
Make customer service, care and satisfaction the priority in every interaction by assisting by:
Greeting all patients, visitors and employees with a welcoming and farewell smile, and good eye contact
Being courteous and helpful to all patients, visitors and employees
Assisting with directions and other patient, guest and employee needs as appropriate
Assisting with luggage as needed
Using proper radio etiquette per Company training

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Follow the direction and instruction Account Manager, Assistant Manager or any member of Company management.
Ensure that your actions protect the safety and well-being of all patients, visitors, and employees
Report all incidents immediately to management in accordance with Company policies.
Proactively note hazardous areas on property and report them to management or the DA

DOCUMENT AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Must have a current valid state driver’s license (in the state in which working)
Must have a clean driving record as determined by a background check and DMV record
Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English
Ability to complete documents in legible writing or printing
Ability to recognize when there is a problem situation and escalate to management

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to assist physically challenged patients and visitors on and off of GEM Car
Ability to sit and drive a vehicle for an extended period of time.
Must possess the manual dexterity to safely operate motor vehicles in very limited parking areas including:
Reaction time: the ability to quickly respond with the hand, finger or foot, to a signal of sound, light, or picture, when it appears
Multi-limb coordination — the ability to coordinate two or more limbs (e.g., two legs, two arms, or one leg and one arm) in the performance of duties
Response orientation — the ability to choose quickly between two or more movements in response to two or more different signals to include the speed with which the correct response is started
Ability to endure bending getting in and out of the GEM Car frequently
Ability to lift 25-30 lbs
