The Opportunity
Revolution Prep is looking for a designer/front-end web developer to join our design team. Your primary responsibilities will be creating designs and layouts for product web sites, landing pages, emails, and other web applications as needed, producing HTML and CSS to implement these designs, and working with Ruby on Rails developers to integrate the HTML with the functional application. You will also do occasional design work on InDesign print projects and create illustrations in Illustrator.

Requirements:

• Fluency in XHTML and CSS
• Ability to produce mockups in Photoshop and turn them into standards-compliant HTML/CSS
• Expertise in achieving cross-browser compatibility in IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari
• Ability to work with web developers in integrating design and functionality
• Expertise in grid-based layout design and its implementation in HTML/CSS
• Ability to explain design decisions through consideration of user experience

Pluses:

• Formal education in art or design
• Experience with JavaScript, especially jQuery
• Experience with RaphaelJS
• Experience in Ruby on Rails
• Obsession with all things open source
• design blog reader, Apple fan, music lover
