We are looking for a Director of Network Operations to lead the team responsible for the management and strategic direction of our network systems and operations including: colos, security, disaster recovery, business applications and desktop user support, telephony and technology quality assurance. This is a highly visible position that involves frequent interaction with upper management, implementation of supporting units, programs, processes, policies and/or procedures to successfully achieve those objectives.

In this role you will develop and maintain an effective and efficient technology infrastructure that supports the needs of the business, which will include disaster recovery and business continuity. This includes planning, execution, and administration. We’re looking for someone who can design and architect scalable and flexible systems that properly support the business. The person in the seat will be responsible for working with outside vendors on large projects such as data center location and co-location selection. In addition, our company will be experiencing a move to a new corporate headquarters and the Network Operations group will be responsible for the company’s technology infrastructure integrity during the move. Managing a significant IT capital expenditures budget is also part of the responsibilities for this role.

In this position you will report to the Vice President of Technology and Product Management and lead a team of network administrators, engineers and help desk support staff.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement the innovative use of IT infrastructure and maintain a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and systems.
• Manage network operations, desktop user support, technology projects, remote facilities and other related IT services.
• Develop and maintain a disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
• Manage the helpdesk function and provide ongoing 1st level and 2nd Level assistance when needed.
• Ensure the smooth operation of voice and data network services.
• Establish and maintain relationships with personnel in other departments.
• Provide technical consulting services to department/organization regarding use of computers and networks to satisfy business needs.
• Manage relationships as required with outside Vendors.
• Set and achieve aggressive goals to minimize outages and overall downtime while implementing new technology and processes.

Required:

• Bachelors’ degree, plus 8 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Graduate degree a plus.
• Experience hiring, leading, motivating, evaluating, and developing technical professionals
• Deep understanding of technology project management and ability to lead and deliver on complex projects of strategic significance
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to engage IT staff members in collaboratively pursuing shared goals
• Implement improved processes and management methods to generate higher ROI and workflow optimization
• Plan and create the forecasting, implementation and identification of resource requirements for network systems
• Supervise all analytical tasks and activities associated with IT functions (e.g., website design, engineering, implementation, diagnostics or operations/user support, and e-commerce management)
• Confer with and advise administrators, user representatives, and technical personnel regarding development and design of wide area and local area networks and recommend IT systems to support growth of organization.
• Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures regarding communication equipment, website management, software, maintenance, and monitoring
• Evaluate new products and assists in the creation and documentation of technical standards and interface applications
• Lead the design, build out, and operation of IT systems throughout the company
