Provides technical and administrative support to the Environmental Services department, while developing increased technical and project management skills.This position will commence with an initial 2 to 3 month, onsite training program which will be held at the corporate EMG office in Hunt Valley, MD beginning the end of January 2012. Housing and other reasonable accommodations will be provided for the duration of the training period. After the onsite training period will work remotely from your home. This position will require 30 — 50% travel.
This is a great opportunity for recent college graduates.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
include the following. Other job related duties may be assigned in conformance with state and federal regulations.• Monitors workflow and performs portfolio tracking as assigned.
• Performs various administrative tasks in support of the Environmental and Client Service departments
• Assists in QA/QC by performing cursory and full reviews of environmental reports as assigned.
• Researches regulatory and historical data through various means, including but not limited to Internet research, phone calls and visits to regulatory agencies.
• Assists in completing reports by conducting follow-up technical research, writing addendum letters and incorporating report changes.
• Produces CADD maps as needed.
• Organizes and maintains in-house reference data.
• Increases technical knowledge and experience by developing an understanding of commercial real estate transactions and due diligence; continues technical training and obtains required environmental certifications; gains in-depth understanding of Phase I procedures, tools and techniques.
• Protects operations by keeping company information confidential.
• Delivers outstanding customer service through timely response and proactive solutions to client needs.
• Demonstrates EMG’s guiding principles in support of the company’s strategic goals.
• Follows all documented policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions applicable to the position and in support of EMG’s quality standards.
• Maintains safe and clean work area by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
• May be required to work overtime with prior authorization from supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies or a related Earth Science from four-year college or university; 1-2 years environmental/administrative work preferred; working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet research.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations- Valid driver’s license
Other Qualifications- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong time management and organization skills. Good research skills and ability to work independently and prioritize to meet deadlines.
