EVENT CAPTAINS (Northridge )

We are a food services company focused on healthy meals for private schools. We are looking to add Event Captains to our service staff. You must be available to work M-F from 9:30 — 1:30. This is part-time work — about 20-30 hours per week and is perfect for professional candidates looking to supplement their income with part-time work in the mornings and build their career in the food service industry.
EVENT CAPTAINS
Responsible for performing all the duties necessary to execute a perfect catered event each day. Event Captains must have excellent knowledge of catered events as well as exceptional customer service care.* Reports to Food Service Manager immediately upon arrival to receive daily assignments.
* Organizes the day’s work and prepares delegated tasks to service team at the start of each shift.
* Oversees event preparation and ensure that tasks are on schedule.
* Develops excellent client relationships
* Meets budget
* Helps to control the misuse of linens, overuse of supplies.
* Helps to control labor costs and maximize efficient production of tasks.
* Conducts pre-event meetings with service team staff.
* Ensures that events are set at least 15 minutes prior to their schedule start time.
* Ensures that service staff maintains proper grooming and dress code standards at all times.
* Supervises and assists with the service of food for each event as specified by Freshlunches
* Prepares post-event task list with help of Service Manager and ensure that tasks are completed prior to relieving service staff.
* Responsible for completing a Captain’s Report after each event.
* Responsible for clearing and cleaning all catering areas after each event; follows rules and regulations of each client facility.
* Maintains organization of linen shelves and other catering equipment supplies.
* Maintain cleanliness of all catering supplies, equipment and service vehicle.
* Reports any areas in need of maintenance or repair to the Food Services Manager.
* Ensures that vehicles are locked at the end of the shift.
* Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary.QUALIFICATIONS
* Knowledge of food service industry
* Excellent skills in guest services and catering
* Ability to handle multiple events in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to lead part-time and temporary staff through all phases of an event
* Excellent communication skills
* Enjoys working with children
* Experience with POS system and register reconciliation a plusComplimentary lunches provided daily. This position is for a 4 month contract initially but could be extended depending on the individual’s performance. Our hiring process includes a mandatory background check.
