HOBY’s mission is to inspire and develop our global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation. Each year, over 10,000 students attend one of HOBY’s 70 leadership development programs in the United States or partnering programs in Canada, Mexico, Philippines, South Korea, China, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Argentina and soon to be Iraq and Nigeria. The Position:

HOBY is seeking an experienced Grant Writer focusing on researching and executing corporate, foundation, and government grants. The position is contract only and you would work out of your own home or in HOBY offices located in Westlake Village.

General responsibilities include:

• Researching new grant prospects as appropriate
• Drafting and writing grants
• Managing and following a grants calendar
• Cultivating and managing relationships with foundations, corporations, and public agencies for grants written
• Researching needs for grant based on program area including statistical data

Traits and Characteristics:
• Organized and must have excellent written communication skills
• Dependable, conscientious, detail oriented and capable of managing deadlines
• Capable of working independently
• Self-starter

Experience and Education:
The successful candidate must have grant writing experience and should be able to demonstrate a successful history of obtaining new grants.

Salary and Benefits:
The salary is commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the individual candidate and would be hourly. As a contractor, the person would be responsible for all taxes. Benefits are not included.
