HR Assistant-Benefits (Downtown L.A.)

DEFINITION:
The Benefits Human Resources Assistant will perform a variety of administrative duties to include: benefits processing and coordination, HRIS benefit data entry, processing of employee benefit terminations, coordination and tracking of leave of absences, employee recognition programs and the reporting, tracking and monitoring of worker’s compensation claims. and will also assist in special projects and provide general administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Department.QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/ Experience / Skills
• AA degree with college level course work in personnel management. B.A. degree preferred
• Two years of increasingly responsible technical or administrative experience in personnel benefit coordination.
• Working knowledge of all human resources of federal regulations (e.g. COBRA, FLSA, OSHA, Workers’ Compensation, ARISA, ADA, FMLA, CFRA, etc.)
• Strong PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HRIS-ADP HR Expert)
• Able to work in a fast pace environment
• Detail oriented, dependable and organized a must.
• Ability to establish priorities and handle multiple tasks at once is required.
• Analytical skills, good judgment to make decisions within policies.
• Good written and oral communication.Special Requirements
• Must have a reliable automobile for use on the job (mileage to be reimbursed). Valid California Driver License. State required automobile insurance coverage;
• TB clearance, to be renewed every two yearsSalary: $16.00 hourly, depending on education and experience
