HR Generalist (Torrance)

Torrance Company is seeking an HR Generalist to provide human resources tasks. This position reports directly to the CFO and indirectly to the Office Manager.
The Human Resources Generalist manages the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office; manages the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs; carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: departmental development, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, talent management and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and employment; leads the company in the generation and implementation of HR best practices and objectives to provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The Human Resources Generalist coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs.
Responsibilities:
• Maintenance of employee database, personnel files, updates organizational charts and employee directories
• Handles routine employee questions via email or phone i.e., policies, procedures, etc.
• Handles company-wide employee communication
• Benefits administration and open enrollment; compensation administration; payroll processing; and worker’s compensation processing; employee safety, welfare, and wellness
• Recruitment and hiring including staffing logistics; plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude and alignment with company goals and objectives
• Advises management in employee relations issues and executes progressive discipline process
• Updates employee job descriptions regularly
• Performance and talent management
• Processing termination including paperwork and exit interviews
• Corresponds with government agencies such as EDD, Federal, etc. as requested
• Updates employee handbook as needed
• Updates communication board for posting compliance issues with State and Federal requirements; employment compliance to regulatory concerns and reporting
• Facilitates monthly staff meeting
• Performs other related duties as required and assignedPrimary Objectives :

• Employee and work Environment Safety Employment compliance to regulatory concern and reporting (ensuring law and regulation compliance)Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Human Resources or 3-5 years of experience as Human Resources Generalist
• Strong knowledge of Human Resources policies and regulations
• Extreme attention to detail and flexible
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong MS Office skills required i.e., Word, Excel and outlook; knowledge of Quickbooks and ADP payroll softwareThis is a Part-Time position requiring up to 20-25 hours per week.
