HRIS Lawson Analyst (Calabasas, CA)

    Description

    Position Summary 

    The primary focus of this position is to support the HRIS Manager in the maintenance and optimization of the Lawson ERP system including related self-service modules, participate in related projects, and provide recommendations related to Lawson ERP and other HR systems (e.g. Success Factors, Taleo). This individual is one of two (2) HRIS analysts that serve as technical point-of-contact to HR functional areas and assist subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing system changes, report writing, and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. The HRIS Analyst also supports Lawson upgrades, patches, testing and other technical projects as assigned.  The HRIS analyst may also be called upon to lead projects, as needed.

     

     
     
     
     

    Qualifications

    Key Duties & Responsibilities:
     
    1. System Maintenance
    Assist in the review, testing and implementation of Lawson upgrades or patches. Collaborate with functional HR and IT staff to coordinate application of upgrade or fix. Maintain Lawson system tables (such as jobcode table, department table, process level table, position table).  Document process and results.
     
    2. Production Support
    Provide support for HRIS including, but not limited to, researching and resolving HRIS problems, unexpected results or process flaws; perform scheduled activities; recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
    Assist in the support of Lawson Benefits Administration and Leave Administration activities.
     
    3. Reports/Queries
    Write, maintain and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing Lawson Reporter, Lawson Add-Ins, Crystal, and/or MicroStrategy tools. Assist in development and running of standard reports for ongoing customer needs. Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.
     
    4. Projects/Process Improvement
    Recommend process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy that must be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation. Participate heavily in the implementation of Lawson employee and manager self-service functionality and design of related business processes. Serve as a liaison with third parties and other stakeholders (e.g. payroll). Use project management skills in participating in HRIS projects.  May provide overall project management for a given HR initiative or work stream.
     
    5. Training
    Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Train Lawson users on new processes/functionality as needed,  Assist in development of training tools for manager and/or employee self-service, needed.
     
    6. Individual Development
    Maintain awareness of current trends in HRIS with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies. Examine trends in information systems training, materials and techniques. Continuously increase both HR knowledge and HRIS application/tools knowledge. Participate in user group meetings/conferences.
     
    Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    Strong understanding of HR processes and data, including eligibility and enrollment rules, and benefit procedures in order to ensure correct implementation. Strong understanding of HRIS database design, structure, functions and processes, and experience with databases tools. Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience with Lawson HR/Benefits modules.  Experience with Lawson LP and/or Payroll a plus. Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills. Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects.
     
    Requirements
    • 2 years of Lawson HRIS experience.
    • One to two years project lead experience a plus.
    • Systems implementation experience a plus.
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience
