Inserter Operator (Chatsworth, CA)

SUMMARY
Under general supervision, operates all mailing equipment, including high-speed mail insertion and stand-alone mail metering equipment. Monitors and controls high-speed mail insertion equipment by loading printed documents and related materials and operating a PC console and machine controls. Job focus is to meet daily shift production and job deadlines in a timely and quality fashion for output documents to be mailed to customers (including bills, checks and correspondence).ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following):
-Operate production mail insertion equipment, currently including Gunther MS Systems and Bell & Howell Mailstar
-Operate stand alone mailing machine, currently Pitney Bowes DM1000
-Operate stand alone folder, currently Baumfolder BC-200
-Operate inkjet envelope addressing system, currently Bryce 24K-P Address Print Station
-Load cut sheet documents, envelopes, stuffers, cards and related materials
-Ensure folders, feeders, and meters are correctly adjusted to specific job applications
-Ensure that all throughput is completed in a timely and accurate fashion
-Perform quality control of output, ensuring output meets quality standards
-Manage job selection and set-up using related server software
-Maintain postage and shift logs with required data in required timeframes
-Ensure the insertion equipment and workstation are maintained and kept reasonably clean
-Maintain required equipment and mailing supplies

Education Requirement
-High School diploma or equivalentExperience Requirements
-3-5 years working with any type production mail insertion equipment
-1+ years running stand alone mail metering equipment
-Mail industry experience preferredSpecial Skill Requirements
-Ability to listen, understand and communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing
-Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
-Ability to operate a manual pallet jack
-Ability to handle multiple tasks
-Ability to prioritize jobs
-Excellent attention to detail and follow up skills; highly organized
-Basic PC operation skills
-Willingness to learn
-Mechanical troubleshooting skills
-Knowledgeable about paper and the characteristics that affect production processesOther
-Willing to work overtime, holidays and weekends as requested
