Manufacturing Assembly Engineer (San Fernando Valley)

SF Valley based company is looking for a Manufacturing Assembly Engineer whose responsibilities include:
•Provide assembly engineering support for equipment and assembly processes, including interacting with manufacturing to ensure the production of high quality assembly products in a timely, cost effective manner
• Drive assembly/manufacturability and module/part-family assembly process and standard initiatives relative to electro mechanical devices, including the ability to assemble and install various components, cables and electronics (including coaxial, RF and crib cables)
• Working closely with product engineers, manufacturing and other department leaders to lead/coordinate activities using team interaction to accomplish assembly product output, driving the development & deployment of comprehensive assembly standard work
• Supervise all activities of assembly personnel including equipment and production, providing daily technical assistance and monitor daily quality and productivity results; react to problems as they occur
• Assume full responsibility for the quality of parts leaving the department and for the accuracy of all production counts, including; QA/QC of new parts, equipment and processes
• Using the production schedules furnished by Product Development control assembly production and output, ensuring deadlines are met
• Maintain a solid and dependable workflow from assembly to internal customers, including creating and maintaining prescriptive assembly floor work instructions (including specifications, engineering changes, QAD/process control, and tooling definition/requirements.)
• Serve as the liaison between manufacturing and engineering
• Initiate cost-savings ideas and projects through efficient engineering assembly practices by identifying and implementing shop floor processes, including optimization and control methods to eliminate/prevent delinquencies and waste while improving QA/QC
• Maintain and write work instructions
• Supervises hourly assembly associates which include training on the use and maintenance of new equipment and processes
• Participate in design reviews, which includes assisting in de-bugging of new equipment and troubleshoot problems of existing equipment
• Interact with team members to optimize processes and improve work station design
• Lead problem-solving teams to address assembly problems
• Assist and advise on the solutions for assembly and manufacturing problems as they may occur, including implementing new ideas to improve safety, quality, and productivityExperience:
• BS Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
• 5 years manufacturing/assembly experience required
• Previous supervisory experience
• Digital circuitry; cabling, metal work is preferred
• Leadership skills and abilities required
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems a plus (Inventory management, WIP, work centers, etc.).
• Experience with Bills of Materials (BOM), Change Management (ECR/ECO), Corrective Actions (CAR) a plus, but not required.
• Proficient organizational skills, with ability to prioritize, assign and balance staff workloads
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required
• Ability to supervise in a fast pace, team oriented, manufacturing/assembly environment
