We are looking for a manufacturing engineer or manufacturing foreman who has experience with manufacturing production execution, production dispatching, production resource management, production data collection, and production tracking. The company is a large composite manufacturing company who is using software to provide real-time visibility in to the activities on the shop floor. 
 
The ideal candidate will have experience running a large manufacturing facility utilizing Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software. MES differs from a ERP system (like SAP) in several ways. First, ERP systems have a different time horizon: they are concerned with months, weeks, and days, where MES is more concerned with what is happening in smaller time increments. Also, ERP has a different focus, being concerned more with production planning, purchasing, inventory management, and finance. MES provides the details of what is happening on the floor in terms of productivity, work in progress tracking, and defects, and this information is readily available to Operations management and the manufacturing operators themselves. 
 
We are currently using Flexnet by a vendor called Apriso, and for the most part are using it as described above. We do have some additional functionality in that engineering is creating their manufacturing process plans directly in Flexnet, which are then executed on the floor.  
 
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing with experience in manufacturing planning, scheduling, as well as experience in composite manufacturing. This position requires optimization of the resources of a large factory and requires great computer skills.
