Molecular Biology and Drosophila Genetics Research Technician Position (University of Southern California)

An NIH-funded position is available starting Spring 2012 within the Department of Biological Science, Section of Neurobiology at the University of Southern California for a molecular biologist to work on Drosophila neurobiology. The Research Technician will contribute to several projects in the lab and will also have the opportunity to work on his/her own project.
Required Training/Skills:
• A BS/BA in molecular biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, or a related field
• Experience with molecular biology, Drosophila genetics, and/or neuroscience approaches.
• Able to conduct basic molecular biology experiments independently, including plasmid construction/cloning.
• Self-motivated and hardworking. Keeps orderly records and communicates well with others.This is a full-time position with excellent health and retirement benefits at USC’s University Park Campus.
