Non-Profit Organization Seeking Interns (Los Angeles/Culver City)

Community Assistance Consortium, Inc. is a non profit organization that sponsors public benefit programs.
One of our programs are sober living residences; homes for individuals that have recently successfully completed
rehabilitation programs and want to continue on their path of sobriety and re-integrating themselves into society.Other program services are the following: a job training program, a programs that assists consumers with utility payments,
a food reimbursement program for large family day care homes, and a program that approves individuals for EBT/County benefits.
The Administrator of the program is seeking three-four interns to learn and assist in supportive and administrative duties.Applicants must have a minimum of two or more of the following skill sets: general office skills, good and current computer skills,
a valid California driver’s license and proof of valid auto insurance, the ability to perform unsupervised research and miscellaneous
duties, experience working with or volunteering with individuals in recovery, experience working or volunteering
with at-risk populations, volunteer coordination, sales and marketing knowledge and experience, and a desire to learn valuable skills
in a non-profit environment.
We are seeking individuals who are skilled in research, are very computer literate, have strong verbal and written communication skills,
have experience working or are open to working in a sober living environment, are comfortable working with and around individuals
in recovery and a variety of people from different ethnic and socioeconomic environments, and individuals who have successfully
completed substance counseling classes, volunteered in a recovery environment, and/or had successful recovery experience are desired.
There is no pay during the three month term of the internship, however, there will be a weekly or bi-weekly (depending on intern’s schedules)
gas/transportation stipend provided.
The internship is three months in duration, after which, one, two, three, or all four interns will be offered a
paid position at the successful ending of the internship. There will be extensive computer and phone work involved.
Internships will start in in late December and/or early January 2012.
