AKASHA Restaurant seeks an experienced baker/pastry assistant. This position reports to the owner, pastry chef and chefs of the restaurant. The position includes plating and baking desserts.

Your compensation will be based on experience. Schedule will include weekend shifts.

Requirements are:

A minimum of 2 years as an assistant in a restaurant, bakery or commissary.
The ability to plate desserts in a busy restaurant.
The ability to make cookies, bars, quick breads, cupcakes, cakes, pies, tarts, ice creams, sorbets, scones, and muffins.
The ability to follow a recipe.
A passion for local, organic & sustainable ingredients.
Clearly read, write, and speak in English. (Spanish is a plus)
Savory baking experience (focaccia, yeast breads, cornbread) is a plus.
Catering and volume production experience is a plus.
