Production/Maintenance Supervisor (Vernon)

The supervisor is responsible for running quality product by following procedures established by the company. Will take a pro-active approach to maintaining an efficient production line and should be willing to accept responsibility and accountability for the work done on his/her shift and report issues to the plant manager. Prior food manufacturing/baking facilities experience is preferred.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
• Coordinate, direct and monitor the daily activities of the production shift to ensure manufacturing, packaging, logistics, QA or maintenance objectives are achieved; as well as compliance with quality, safety, regulatory requirements, and GMP guidelines.
• Identifies deficiencies and makes recommendations for improvements.
• Participates in developing, interpreting, and implement policies and procedures for the area of responsibility.
• Monitors shift performance through performance measurement tools and provide feedback to staff.
• Enforce company policies (attendance, safety, GMP’s etc) procedures and regulations
• Assists with troubleshooting and repair of equipment, and ensures all equipment is well maintained, clean and in good working order. Keeps management informed of equipment status.
• Ensures all employees receive proper training, such as GMP, SOP, Safety and Operations. Communicates company objectives to employees.
• Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and training as required.
• Assists with interviewing potential employees, performance reviews, employee relations issues and overall company communication.
• Schedule vacation, lunch, rest periods and working hours for hourly employees
• Controlling absenteeism and tardiness and approving request for time off
• Verifying time cards and approve overtime when necessary
• Experience with maintenance planning to include scheduling and assisting with maintaining preventative maintenance schedule and TPM.Qualifications/Abilities/ Education:
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
• Minimum 3 year working in a food manufacturing facility.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus
• Good computer skills knowledge of Microsoft Office, mechanical aptitude and MRP systems required
• Must be able to effectively lead and develop a large hourly workforce
• Able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.Physical Demands:
