Responsibilities:
The Quality Assurance Manager will work chiefly with the development and
product management team to build user-friendly products on a variety of content
delivery platforms (web, mobile, etc), and to ensure on-time launches of new
products where features and revisions adhere closely to established business
requirements, functional specifications and design guidelines.Responsibilities include testing and monitoring our websites and apps, our
partner and affiliate sites, reviewing existing test plans and developing new test
plans for future products, reviewing all specification documents and overseeing
freelance and part-time moderators and testers.Specific responsibilities include:
1. Daily tests of functionality, cross-browser compatibility and user
experience of our website properties and apps.
2. Test development versions of new features and approve them for public
release.
3. Manage pre-release and ongoing bug list, ensure prioritization and
attention given to appropriate issues.
4. Maintain testing and support requirements and standards.5. Review and update existing test strategies along with creation of new
test plans based upon thorough interpretation of complex business
requirements and functional specification documents.
6. Review of all requirements and specifications documentation prior to
development for clarity, completeness and testability.
7. Determining the schedule and sequence of testing activities for ongoing
site support and for new product releases.
8. Provide test progress status and reports for management review.
9. Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve project defects and
user-reported bugs.
10. Maintain detailed feature release log and keep up-to-date.
11. Coach and manage daily contributions of freelance and part-time testers.Requirements:
1. 3-5 years experience in a Quality Assurance role focused on complex
Website(s).
2. Strong problem solving and conceptual thinking skills.
3. Easily able to adapt to late-changing requirements or project
prioritizations.
4. Strong verbal and written communications skills with an attention to detail.
5. Familiarity with both Windows and Macintosh operating systems and
accompanying Web browsers and standard office software.
6. Business and user-experience savvy.
7. Detail oriented.
8. Excellent time management skills.
9. Proven track record of self-management and discipline.
10. Team player.
11. Work well under stress and pressure.Additional desired skills:
1. Experience with setting up and deploying automated and/or open-source
QA tools
2. Continuous Integration experience
3. Familiarity with the languages of the web (html, css, javascript)
