Position Summary
Responsible for full cycle recruiting including sourcing, screening, interviewing, capturing candidates for research and scientific positions which include Ph.D.s, Research Scientists, Researchers, Technicians, and Faculty. Consults with hiring managers to understand their needs, develops recruitment strategies, and recruit top tier talent in a timely and cost efficient manner. Provides all candidates both internally and externally with an ideal experience that projects a positive image of Company.
Position Accountabilities
The following are essential job accountabilities:
1. Interfaces frequently with assigned business units and the hiring managers to develop a supportive relationship by building knowledge of the business, understanding what
typesskills and competencies are needed, and when positions are needed.
2. Develops and implements recruitment strategies that utilize an assortment of search techniques (Internet mining, networking, web 2.0, advertising, employee referrals, alumni
outreach, and college relationships) to develop a slate of qualified candidates. [1]
3. Participates in activities which build market place intelligence. Continually identifies, evaluates and provides recommendations based on trends, competitive analysis, best practices
that will enhance recruitment outcomes.
4. Sources, evaluates, and dispositions applications for internal transfers and external candidates based on position criteria and in accordance with OFCCP/affirmative action
regulations. [1]
5. Assesses all candidates via phone or in person prior to presenting applications/resumes to hiring managers for consideration. [1]
6. Partners with Compensation to assess circumstances related to internal equity, market conditions and department funding considerations. Provides recommendation on the offer
package to hiring managers. [1]
7. Extends job offers to candidates and ensures all pre-employment and on-boarding paperwork and processes are completed in accordance with Company’s policies and
requirements. [1]
8. Ensures candidates have an ideal experience by ensuring timely contact, feedback and customer support throughout the interviewing, selection, hiring and on-boarding processes.
9. Partners with Immigration on matters related to processing Visas, green cards, and foreign national work authorizations.
10. Keeps informed on developments in areas such as wages and salaries, employee benefits, and general personnel practices as it relates to market conditions and Company
practice. [1]
11. Ensures that recruiting and hiring activities are in compliance with government regulations and organizational policies and procedures. [1], [5]
12. Builds positive relationships with colleges, associations and professional organizations by participating in networking events, job fairs and school-based recruitment opportunities.
13. Collects employment and termination data.
14. Ensures accurate data input into the PeopleSoft HRIS system. [1]
15. Follows established Company and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines.
Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality. [5]
16. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Position Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Life Science or related field.
Five years progressive experience doing full life cycle recruitment with a minimum of two years scientific recruitment with a focus on PhDs, scientists, and faculty positions.
Strong knowledge of sourcing tools and techniques.
Experienced in building and establishing college relationships
Technically savvy and experienced using a variety of HR systems to
Include HRIS, ATS. Experience with PeopleSoft v8.9 or higher preferred.
Knowledgeable about immigration processes and procedures related to
VISA, green card processing and foreign national work authorizations.
Demonstrates cultural sensitivity
Recruitment for scientific and research positions including PhDs, research scientists, and faculty within a medical research or academic environment.
