Seeking writers for popular Sexuality blog (Anywhere)
-
I’m the owner of Theirtoys.com, an adult toy site. We also run a fairly popular blog at http://theirtoys.com/sexblog. The blog currently gets 100,000 – 150,000 unique visitors per month. We are looking to dramatically increase the amount of content that is being produced for the blog, and are therefore hiring several regular writers. The topics can vary widely, but should be related to sex, sex toys, sexuality, GLBT issues, relationships, or anything else tangential. This is an opportunity for a young writer (college students are great) to make a bit of extra money writing in a very interesting and fun niche, and having their work seen by a lot of people. Because there has been a lot of interest in this position, it is going to work like this. If I accept you as a writer, you will be given a unique login to the blog (it is a wordpress blog) where you will be able to write blog posts without supervision. Once you have completed a blog post, you will submit it for approval. It will be either approved completely (if you did an excellent job, and I think the readers will like it) or I will ask you to do edits before approval or I will flat out reject it if the work is below par. Once I’ve approved a piece you have written in the blog, you will be paid $20 within 24 hours via paypal. There is no limit to the number of blog posts you will be allowed to write, so you can really make as much money as you like by writing excellent content. Here is what I am looking for in a blog post:
1. Topic must be inherently interesting. I’m not looking for anything generic.
2. It must be easy to consume. Blog writing is not like writing for a paper, it should be easily understood at a few glances, should include media (images and/or video)
3. It can be controversial, outrageous, or even disturbing. I’m looking for content that people will be interested in reading and sharing, almost anything goes.
4. Grammar and spelling can’t be a major issue. If you suck at this, please don’t apply. These will be edited briefly, mostly for content. If there are substantial grammatical or spelling errors, the post won’t be approved.
5. Each entry should range between 800-1,500 words. If you’re confident the blog entry is awesome but doesn’t fit within these limits, no problem, but as a general rule they should be this long.If you are interested please do the following:
1. Give me a tiny bit of background (please don’t attach a resume, I don’t care, just tell me a little about yourself and why you would be good for this or would like doing it)
2. Give me an idea of what you might write as your first post.
3. A small writing sample in the body of the email (no attachments please)
