Site Director (Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach)

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Directs/manages overall daily operations of the designated school site with the primary concern for, supervision and training of staff and volunteers, programs and service delivery, site management, membership recruitment and contract compliance.KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities)
Ensures productive and effective performance by all program staff and volunteers. Allocate and monitor work assigned to program staff and volunteer, provide ongoing feedback, regular appraisal and identify training opportunities for program staff. Conduct performance reviews of designated program staff and volunteers as required by the organization. Ensure that members are encouraged to participate in a variety of programs/activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in programs areas. Keep records of membership, attendance and activity participation as required by the organization and LBUSD WRAP program. Establish and maintain program goals and settings that insure the health and safety of members. Ensure that site staff understand and effectively communicate standards of programs; that they ensure program areas (classroom, cafeteria, auditorium, play grounds, etc.) are safe and that the program and school equipment is protected and maintained in good working condition. Ensure the evaluation of Club programs on a continual basis and ensure programs/activities respond to member needs and address their gender and cultural diversity. Works closely with program staff and Area Director to prepare and submits monthly program calendars and lesson plans. Work closely with the Area Director and school personnel to establish and implement program objectives and attendance goals consistent with organizational goals and LBUSD WRAP Standards, guidelines and requirements. Work closely with the Area Director to prepare annual program budget. Control Site program and activity expenditures within approved budget. Ensure compliance with LBUSD WRAP program policy and procedures.SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
• Associates of Arts degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of two years work experience in a after school program or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on development needs of young people.
• Knowledge of recreation and youth development theory.
• Demonstrate ability in personnel supervision and site management.
• Strong communications skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to train, supervise, and motivate staff.
• Ability to effectively demonstrate youth behavior management techniques.
• Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management.
• Demonstrate effective leadership skills.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.HOW TO APPLY
