A tutoring company is currently seeking tutors in various parts of L.A. and surrounding cities to tutor students grade K-12 in English Language Arts or Math. Candidates MUST have at least a Bachelor’s degree, and be able to travel to the student’s home or local library to tutor. Candidates must have consistent access to the internet, be able to follow directions, and be very organized with necessary paper works. Reliable transportation is required. Candidate must enjoy working with children from low-income families, and must be able to travel to low-income neighborhoods to tutor these children; tutors also must have strong communication skills, and are committed to educating and motivating young students.

We are also currently seeking tutors for our laptop-based tutoring program, which works with students in grade K-12 in English Language Arts or Math. Our laptop-based tutoring program’s proprietary educational approach blends live (face-to-face) instruction with high-quality online resources and learning activities. Tutors will be tutoring students on an 1-on-1 basis using laptop computers provided by our company. Tutoring sessions also take place at student’s home or at a preferred location, such as a local library or community center. [Note: You DO NOT need to have your own laptop computer in order to tutor our students; our students will be provided with computers!]

No previous tutoring or teaching experience is required, although it’s very helpful. BILINGUAL (SPANISH/ENGLISH) ABILITY IS A BIG PLUS, but not mandatory. Candidates who are able to tutor high school level math are also highly needed. Candidates must also be able to pass fingerprint/background checks with the Dept. of Justice and FBI, and obtain clearance for TB test. We welcome current school teachers or substitute teachers to apply! Candidate also must be able to commit for at least 6 months.

Tutoring sessions are usually available after school on weekdays, and anytime on weekends. Tutors are able to choose their own flexible tutoring schedules, as well as the geographical area(s) of tutoring sessions (which usually take place near tutor’s home, work, or school!), and work with the same students on a weekly basis. Tutoring sessions are available to start immediately!

$17.50-20.00/Hr starting for 1-on-1 tutoring, up to $32.50-35.00/Hr for small-group (1-on-2 or 1-on-3) tutoring. Average tutors can expect between 5 to 40 hours of tutoring a week.
