Reliance MediaWorks is currently seeking a Video I/O Data Manager for its office in Burbank. Duties include supporting and overseeing all data production activities for this post production facility.

The essential responsibilities include:
• Support production activities including maintaining and tracking of production data and responsible for data transfers and server side renders
• Create media output as requested by production staff; ensure successful systems input/output with a continuous production focus
• Ingest media to/from client from/to production storage servers
• Responsible for data quality control and monitoring of all incoming and outgoing data content
• Renders images in Baselight server
• Generate data/project archives to clients preferred storage media
• Manage the life cycle of data on our storage servers

You must have the following competencies and qualifications

• Comfortable interfacing with new technologies
• Problem solving skills
• Must be able to think fast on their feet
• Must have an eye for image quality
• MUST understand the difference between a “data backup” and a “data archive”
• Ability to work in a team environment, but also independently
• Strong technical background with knowledge of multiple data file systems (ntfs, fat32, hfs, ext3, etc.)
• Strong technical background with knowledge of multiple i/o interfaces (usb, firewire 400/800, eSATA, etc.)
• Must be able to move/copy and manage files between different operating systems (Mac OSX, Windows, Linux/Unix)
• Must have strong Linux/Unix command line skills
• Working knowledge of data archive/backup technologies
• Working knowledge of mounting methods (smb, ftp, nfs, etc.)
• Minimum of 2-year experience in Baselight data I/O & rendering support a plus
• Knowledge of server/workstation systems
• Knowledge of different I/O devices
• Mac OSX, Linux, Unix, Windows Operating System
• Strong Linux command line skills
• Microsoft Office
• Xytech Enterprise experience (a plus)
