Consumer internet/mobile startup seeks VP Engineering / Co-Founder

We have bootstrapped the V1 Proof of Concept for a truly social commerce platform with all digital products. We have a trickle of customers and revenue.

We will attract a technical leader who is passionate about product and design to architect and manage the build of a truly organic Social, Mobile, Local, V2 with a thorough Facebook integration, Mobile app, Loyalty system, and photo/video sharing and syndication. This will be your baby!!

As a startup rockstar, the VP Engineering will be a force of nature who loves to crank out elegant and well documented code ( PHP, RUBY, LAMP ? ) with their own hands, but who can also lead, inspire, and manage contractors and new hires. In fact, you already have a rolodex of coders, UX designers, etc. who you have worked with successfully and enthusiastically. This is a true ground floor opportunity where you will have the ability to make a significant contribution through programming and building and managing a team.

Our ideal candidate combines great people management skills with deep expertise in the technologies that power fast, scalable web applications. In addition to writing high quality software, we seek someone who enjoys the other aspects of building a new company: initially managing outsourced development resources, and then building and managing their own tightly-knit development team, innovating on all levels of the stack, designing features, making good product decisions, marketing and recruiting. Age doesn’t matter. Experience, drive & willingness is what we’re looking for.

You must:
• Be able to hold conversations with founder regarding pros and cons of specific technologies as they apply to web/mobile development.
• Be committed and be dedicated to push company forward as quickly and as expertly as possible
• Have experience managing productive engineering teams and an active interest in being the liaison with groups outside engineering (e.g. product and marketing)
• Have good written and verbal skills
• Have excellent organizational abilities
• Have ability to demonstrate a strong problem solving skill set
• Have ability to seize initiative and take responsibility
• Be willing to learn and grow in this position
• Turn designs into fully-functioning web applications.
• Research new tools and technologies to accelerate development
• Develop and improve our internal toolchain (management, deployment, and testing).
• Be responsible for architecting and building features in their entirety.
• Become better, faster, stronger.

You live in ( or want to move to ) the Silicon Beach area, because that’s where everything is happening in Los Angeles
We are a pre-funded company, but that is about to quickly change. Part time participation is fine until funding/salary.
Initial SALARY will COMMENCE uopn FUNDING…. and a SIGNIFICANT EQUITY opportunity is AVAILABLE NOW..
