NOW HIRING energetic and friendly YOUTH ASSISTANTS to work with visually impaired blind youth and teens during our after-school program at Braille Institute Los Angeles. No prior work experience with the blind is needed as long as you are a quick learner, self-starter and great team player. This job is extremely rewarding as you assist in the life skills development of this specific population of youth under the supervision of the Youth & Teen Consultant.

***Applicant must be at least 21 years old with a clean DMV driving record and clean fingerprinting record.***

If you are enthusiastic, dedicated, socially interactive, creative, spontaneous, possess positive leadership skills especially when working with youth, then this job may just be for you! About half the time is spent on the road, driving youth and teens to and from programs, but the other half is teaching kids lessons and learning to adapt different skills to facilitate lessons. We are flexible with college schedules. We ask for a commitment of at least 2 years to ensure the successful development of work with the youth. Being bilingual is a plus.

Working hours Mondays-Fridays 1-7 p.m.
Some weekend work that can start early in the morning and end late, seasonal overnight camping and outdoor physical activities.
On-call, Part-time Position, off when kids are on seasonal breaks according to school calendars.
Pay is $10/hour, approximately 20-30 hours a week.
