Communication with School Site:
 
•Get to know the office manager/ custodian/principal/teachers •Information
 
•Best times to recruit •Program days/times/activities
 
•Letting school know about all WCR events •Assure clean up of rooms
 
•Deliver copy of roster to Office manager and principal each session
 

 
Enhance school staff involvement:
 
•Presentations to every classroom •Use school display cases
 
• Attend teacher meetings • Hire staff when appropriate
 
•Visit the parent center regularly for volunteers, resources •Write up notice to office of events on a weekly basis for inclusion in school newsletter and newsletter
 

 
Coordinate activities with other after school programs on site:
 
•LAUSD youth Services, Boy scouts, etc
 
•Advertise their programs in WCR recruiting flyers
 

 
Staff Supervision:
 
•Make sure they are on time, prepared •Monitor use of curriculum
 
•Be sure programs are meeting the needs of children •Getting paperwork completed
 
•Make parent contacts-absentees and quality control • Evaluation and coaching
 
•Be sure staff is taking attendance
 

 
Club Leader position:
 
Location: San Fernando valley
 
Pay range $11.25-$14.00 based on education and experience
 
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
•Plan and implement fun and enriching activities for members of their club.
 
•Recruit and maintain club participants.
 
•Develop positive relationships with youth in their program, parents, and school staff.
 
•Youth Counselors are accountable to the Site Coordinator and Program Manager for assigned duties.
 

 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
•Develop and implement program activities according to program goals and monthly themes.
 
•Supervise and participate in children’s activities.
 
•Maintain and turn in attendance daily.
 
•Write and turn in lesson plans of program activities for each session in advance.
 
•Maintain professionalism at all times, consistent attendance, on time and prepared.
 
•Develop and maintain positive relationships with school staff, parents, and youth.
 
•Make weekly calls to students in their group who do not attend.
 
•Maintain maximum membership levels at all times.
 
•Implement weekly, monthly or quarterly fund-raisers as assigned.
 
•Develop and implement "end of session" performances or displays.
 
•Other related duties as assigned.
 

 
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
 
•AA Degree in Child Development or a related field is preferred or minimum of one year of experience as a group leader working with children and 6 units in child development.
 
•Expertise in a specialty area such as fine and performing arts, science, community service, conflict resolution, physical education, etc.
 
•Work well with young children and/or youth.
 
•Good oral and written communication. Computer literacy and willingness to learn
